Based in County Cork, in the Republic of Ireland, Wild Productions seek to create theatre which enchants, moves, entertains and enthrals. Influences include, Welfare State International, Cliffhanger, Footsbarn, Monty Python, Shakespeare and More Shakespeare. There are strong musical, comic and imaginative elements in our work. An actor’s authentic delivery is also particularly prized. Much of the inimitable stylistic quirkiness of our productions has come about by experimenting in Kinsale Amphitheatre, a space designed by Belinda Wild along the lines of the Globe Theatre. We look to provide an antithesis to thirty years of theatre orthodoxy which has become ever more wearisome in its attempts to shock, horrify, berate and discomfort the audience. Wild Productions are interested in a shared experience with the audience. We look to create an atmosphere in which actors can perform without blocking or intrusive directorial concepts so that each performance is lived as if for the first time.
